Using Voice
Microphone, speaking clearly, what happens after.
You can give instructions to the AI Assistant by speaking instead of typing. This article explains how to use voice and what to expect.
How to Use Voice
- Open the AI Assistant (floating button or link from the Dashboard).
- Find the microphone button (often next to the text input).
- Click the microphone to start recording. The button may change (e.g. turn red or show "Listening").
- Speak clearly in a normal tone. Say what you want in one or two sentences. For example:
- "Create a reservation for Maria, maria@example.com, check-in June 10, check-out June 15, at the Porto apartment."
- "Block the Lisbon house from July 1 to July 7."
- Click the microphone again to stop, or wait for the system to stop automatically after a short pause.
- The system transcribes your speech to text and then processes it like a typed message. You see the result (e.g. confirmation, created reservation, or a request for more details).
Speaking Clearly
- Quiet environment – Reduce background noise so the microphone picks up your voice.
- Clear wording – Use clear dates ("June 10 to June 15"), property names, and guest names or emails so the AI can understand correctly.
- One task at a time – One request per voice message works best (e.g. one reservation, one block, one property). For complex edits, you can send a second message or use the form.
What Happens After
- Your speech is converted to text (you may see it in the chat).
- The AI interprets the text and either executes the action (e.g. creates the reservation) or asks for missing information (e.g. "Which property?").
- You get a reply in the assistant: success message, link to the created item, or a follow-up question.
If the transcription is wrong (e.g. wrong date or name), type a correction in the chat or edit the reservation or property in the normal UI.
If Voice Is Not Available
- Microphone permission – The browser may ask for microphone access. Allow it for the HostManageGo site so voice works.
- Plan – Voice may be available only on certain plans. If you do not see the microphone button, check your plan or use text instead.
- Browser – Use a modern browser that supports the required APIs. If voice fails, use the text input instead.
