Merge Behavior

How direct reservations and iCal events merge on the calendar.

Your property calendar in HostManageGo can show both: reservations created in HostManageGo (direct bookings, AI, or manual) and events imported from other platforms (iCal). This article explains how they are merged so you see one clear picture of availability.

What Is Merged

  • Direct reservations – Reservations you create in HostManageGo (via the form or the AI Assistant). They have check-in and check-out dates and block those dates on the property calendar.
  • Imported iCal events – Events that HostManageGo fetches from external calendar URLs (e.g. Airbnb, Booking.com). Each event has a start and end date. The system blocks those dates on the same property calendar.

Both are merged on the same property calendar: if either a direct reservation or an imported event covers a date, that date is blocked (not available for new bookings).

How It Works

  • Same property – Imported calendars are linked to one property. So all direct reservations for that property and all events from calendars linked to that property are shown together on that property’s calendar.
  • Blocked = unavailable – Any date that is inside a direct reservation or an imported event is treated as blocked. You cannot create a new reservation in HostManageGo for that date (the system will not allow overlapping bookings). Your public booking page will not offer that date either.
  • No double booking – Because import and export sync both ways, a booking on Airbnb blocks the date in HostManageGo (via import), and a reservation in HostManageGo blocks the date on Airbnb (via export). So the merged calendar reflects everything that is already booked, from any source.

Visual Summary

On the property calendar you typically see:

  • Available – Dates with no direct reservation and no imported event. These can be booked.
  • Reserved (direct) – Dates covered by a HostManageGo reservation. Shown as reserved; link to the reservation.
  • Blocked (imported) – Dates covered by an imported iCal event (e.g. Airbnb booking). Shown as blocked; the event may be read-only (no link to edit in HostManageGo, because the booking lives on the other platform).

So: one calendar, all sources merged, and any date that is reserved or blocked in any source is unavailable for new bookings. See Managing Calendars for how to fix wrong dates or duplicates.
