First Steps
Recommended order: create property, add calendar, create booking.
After signing up, you can get the most out of HostManageGo by following a simple order: set up a property, then (optionally) calendars, then reservations. This article suggests a clear path for your first steps.
Recommended Order
1. Create Your First Property
Before you can take bookings, you need at least one property.
- Option A – AI Assistant (quick): Open the AI Assistant and say something like:
"Create a 2-bedroom apartment in Porto for 4 people, 80 euros per night."
The system will create the property with the main fields filled in. - Option B – Form: Go to Dashboard → Properties → New Property, then fill in name, type, address, capacity, bedrooms, bathrooms, base price, and cleaning fee. Save when done.
You can add photos and adjust details later in the property edit screen.
2. (Optional) Add a Calendar (iCal)
If you list the same property on Airbnb, Booking.com, or another platform, connect its calendar so HostManageGo knows when the property is already booked.
- Go to Settings (or the property’s calendar section, depending on the UI).
- Find Calendar Sync / iCal.
- Add the export URL from the other platform (often called "iCal" or "Export calendar") so HostManageGo can import those bookings and block dates.
This reduces the risk of double bookings. You can skip this step and add it later if you prefer.
3. Create Your First Reservation
Once a property exists, you can create a reservation:
- Option A – AI Assistant: e.g. "Create a reservation for [Guest name], [email], check-in [date], check-out [date], at [Property name]."
- Option B – Form: Go to Dashboard → Reservations → New Reservation, choose the property, guest, and dates; the system will calculate the price and block the dates on the calendar.
After creating it, you can open the reservation to see the details, send messages, or attach a guest profile.
What Comes Next
- Email automation – In Settings → Messages you can set up templates and rules (e.g. send a confirmation email when a reservation is confirmed).
- Public booking page – Enable your host page and property page so guests can request or complete bookings on your own site.
- Long-stay discounts – In Settings you can configure weekly or monthly discounts that apply automatically on the public page and in quotes.
You can do these in any order; the sequence above is just a good starting point so that properties and calendars are in place before you rely on reservations and automation.
